Today's BPAL: Blue Moon. This is the June 2007 version, which I bought 2 years ago and it's been sitting since then unused. I suspect I took off the lid, sniffed it, and then it just sat there. Sheesh. Anyways, my verdict? Meh. It's pretty, but it turns to a very typical "floral perfume" to me, with absolutely nothing special about it. I think it's going into the sale pile.

For some unknown reason, I was in a terrific mood this morning, and that has mostly continued up until this point - hopefully the rest of my day will be just as good. I didn't get quite enough sleep last night, but I seem to be getting by just fine on what I did get, and I was out the door early enough to walk to the station and get to work for 6:45. I've decided to work a 4 day week so that I can have Friday off, and come in for 6:45 each morning so I can still be out of here at 2:15. Then on Friday, I'm going to go stand in line at the passport office so that I have my passport in time for my trip in July. Oh yay.

I'm probably going to skip archery practice tonight, since I still have a gigantic bruise on the inside of my left arm from last Thursday's practice, and because I'm in the mood to get some housework done tonight. I need to go deposit my paycheque after work and get some groceries first, and then I'll be heading home. Hopefully that stuff will be done in time for me to get some crafting done tonight, because that's the other thing I'm in the mood for.

I spent all day yesterday feeling like it was Friday, because my boss was away. Usually when he takes time off, it's just Friday, but this week he took both Thursday and Friday off. I have to say, I like having a boss who is mentally half-retired already.

Ian's on his second of five weeks of dayshift, and I got to see him on Wednesday night this week! Seeing him during the week makes it easier to not spent the entire weekend with him, and not feel like I'm missing out on something. This weekend he's insanely busy, and we have a dinner & a movie date planned for tomorrow night, but that's it. The rest of the weekend, he's busy.

This means I get all of tonight at home by myself (and I'm scheduled as backup for my raid, which I'm thrilled about, and I hope I don't get switched to active between now and 7:30 - ETA: dammit, I'm being swapped in after the first boss), most of tomorrow (I won't be seeing him until around dinner time), and all of Sunday. As much as I adore him... I could really use some weekend time to myself. As of right now, the plan is to get a bunch of housework and laundry done, but knowing me it will probably be more like copious amounts of gaming.

I finally made it to archery practice again last night. My computer chair at home had broken a week ago (and it was less than a month old - I think the plastic base was brittle or something) and I ended up spending the weekend sitting on the one I'd had previously, which had no hydraulics in it. This totally killed my back, so I was in too much pain to go to practice on Monday. Yesterday's practice was great though. I've improved my form a bit more, and most rounds were pretty decent - I'm even getting to the point where my arrows are grouped, albeit loosely. My arrows are WAY too heavy for my bow though, which means I'm having to overcompensate a TON when aiming. I can hardly wait to get some wooden arrows.

Friday!

It is absolutely gorgeous outside. Ian and I are going to Tir Righ Coronet tomorrow, and I really hope this weather continues all weekend as it would make for a much nicer event than rain. Of course, this is Vancouver, after all, so for all we know it could start pouring tomorrow morning despite there being not a cloud in the sky right now. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

It was like this yesterday as well, and by the time 3:30 arrived, my office was an absolute oven to work in. This is making me glad I usually work 6 hour days... and once the full heat of the summer arrives, I may just start working 6-12 or 7-1 so that I can try and get out of here before my office heats up fully during the day. Today I should be working a 7.5 hour day, but I need to get home by 3:15 as Ian is coming over after work to try on his tunic, so I will have to put in a little bit of extra time next week instead. And can I just say right now how much I LOVE my job and the fact that I can do things like that?

I made it out to archery practice again last night and as usual, had a blast. I didn't stay too long, since I needed to get home and finish Ian's tunic, but I did get in some good practice. As with last time I was there, I left feeling like I'd had a full workout, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, I lost one of my arrow tips in the butt (the thing that holds the target), and since I only have 6 arrows to begin with, that was kind of annoying. There is going to be a merchant at Coronet this weekend who sells wooden arrows though, so I'm hoping they're not too expensive.

Archery was an absolute blast last night. I am going to be getting a membership to the range, and looking at getting my own gear.

It's more work than it looks like. Today, my shoulders are a bit sore (my left one was sore all last week though, so the archery didn't help that any), and my right forearm is a little bit achey. It's making typing interesting.

I can hardly wait to go again. :)
