it's official: I'm moving!

I finally got a call back around 3:30 yesterday afternoon... and we've got the condo! I go this afternoon to fill out paperwork and hand over the deposit cheque, and we have the place as of July 25th. That way, we can be all moved in, and knowing me, unpacked, by the time my sister arrives on the August long weekend. It will also make it easier to clean the old place as I can go back between the 27th and 31st and clean with no furniture in the way.

We decided to go with layout 08. We couldn't get ANY of them with hardwood floors, unfortunately, but we'll cope. The hardwood would have only been in the living room anyway, not the bedrooms, and I was hoping it would be throughout the apartment for ease of cleaning. As it is, I'm going to have to buy a vaccuum (I've been using the roommate's for the past few years).

I'm going to wait until the roommate is out to start packing so that I can use his room as a place to put the stuff I've finished packing up. Though I may start doing some more decluttering in the meantime. I'm hoping to get rid of a bunch of crap before I move so I don't have to move it. There will likely be a virtual garage sale poste here sometime in the near future. :)

I am SO excited!

There's dozens of pictures up on the ads on Craigslist, I really should go through and collect them all and figure out which ones came from layout 08 so I have pre pics. I'm actually going to see if I can get the keys on the afternoon of the 24th so that I can go in on Friday night and do some cleansing before we bring our stuff in, so I'll be able to get pictures throughout the entire process... before we move in, after we're all set up, and then eventually someday once I've actually been able to do some actual painting and decorating (I have a million ideas in my head for that).

Keeping in mind that I am a bit of a pack rat at heart and have supplies for a couple dozen different crafts and stuff in the house, I'm hoping to pare down as much as possible. I've still got stuff like bills from when I was 18 kicking around the house. Heck, I JUST threw out my New Kids on the Block videos that I bought when I was 13. *sigh*

I'm also planning to scan in all my paperwork that I do need to save so I don't have so much paper kicking around. We have a scanner with a feeder here at work, so I can do it here without too much effort.

The one thing I'm trying to figure out is what the heck we're going to do with the kitchen stuff. Ian doesn't own too much, but he has a LOT of kitchen stuff as he loves to cook. We even each have a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. Thank goodness we get a storage unit with the apartment.
