Wow, I am SOOOO not used to working full 8 hour days anymore. I'm doing 8-4, M/Tu/W this week so that I can work my usual 8-2 on Thursday for my birthday, and yesterday felt just SO long, even though the day went by fairly quickly. And it left me with relatively little energy for my evening, too. I vegged in front of the computer for a while after I got home, and it was close to 7pm by the time I found the energy to get up and do anything else. I did eventually hit the torch last night, though, and made a few more beads, including a prototype owl bead. My sister LOVES owls, and her birthday is 3 weeks after mine. I don't know if I'm going to be able to come up with something I'm happy enough with to give away in time for that, though. But I'm working on it.
I also got a few things knocked off my to-do list last night, though not quite as much as I had hoped. Today it is absolutely GORGEOUS out, so I am planning to knock the "clean up the deck" item off my list tonight, as well as doing a bunch of other stuff.
Like
melspeth, I've decided to participate in the Dirty Dozen largesse competition/project, and intend to donate 12 strings of 5 lampwork beads each. I'm going to do little matched sets. This will be a good opportunity to get rid of some of my odd colors of glass that I bought on a whim. :)
I just hope Ian accomplished the 2 things I texted him about this morning. On the weekend, we went out to Fisherman's Wharf in Steveston, where he bought a pound of HUGE prawns and 4 sole fish straight off a boat. He cleaned up the soles and prepped them for freezing last night, and when I got up this morning my kitchen stunk of fish, and there was a chunk of it on the floor. It was by the cats' dish, so he may have been trying to give them a treat. I texted him asking him to deal with the smell before I got home, because frankly, I can't stand fish. Blech.
