i. It is pouring buckets outside. I am loving it, despite not even having an umbrella at the moment.

ii. I have in my possession (ok, it's hidden at home, but...) a bank draft in the sum of $2,345.00 made payable to my father. Once my parents arrive sometime this coming week and I hand it to my dad, I will be completely and totally 100% OUT OF DEBT. Oh my hairy gods and goddesses, I can't believe I actually freaking DID IT. I am out of debt. WOOOOHOOOOOO.

iii. Doctor's appointment yesterday was great. The mole I had checked out is probably not even a mole, but my doctor is not worried at all. Med dosage is upped very slightly but probably just enough to give me a little boost over what I've been on for the last couple years.

iv. I'm at work for 3 hours this morning, since I didn't go back to work after the doctor appointment yesterday, but the time is going by pretty fast. Once I'm done here, I'll be heading home to change into grubby clothes and clean the shit out of the house in light of my parents' visit this week. I'll be cracking the whip at Ian to help too - he will likely be looking after all the dings in the walls that are getting patched and repainted. I'd also like to get him to help me hang my prints and put the pot rack up this weekend.

v. Once I've handed over the bank draft to my dad, I'm free and clear to go get my SIL's car anytime... but will likely wait until the weekend of Hallowe'en. Next weekend is Tir Righ Arts & Sciences, and I'm helping out in the kitchen for it, and since I need Ian to go with me when I get it (to teach me to drive a stick shift right then and there on the way home), it has to be done on a weekend.

vi. Speaking of Tir Righ A&S, I really need to get going on some garb to wear to it. If all else fails, I can fall back on my sideless surcoat, but I'd really like to get my norse outfit finished for it instead.

vii. I just had a brilliant idea for a knitting project that I am going to design and knit.

viii. I'm thinking seriously about getting a Nintendo Wii in the next month or 2.

ix. Now that I'm out of debt, it's time to think about house decorating! My first step is going to be to look for a new bedding ensemble... duvet cover, pillow cases, etc. and once that is chosen, we can pick paint colors based on that. Very exciting. :)

x. OMG only 2 months til Christmas. I need to figure out what I'm getting or making for people, especially since the number of people I need gifts for has increased substantially this year.

xi. I almost forgot... I have found a harp and gaelic teacher, and I have my first lesson of each on Monday. If that goes well and I feel I can learn from him, the gaelic lessons will be weekly and the harp lessons will be every 2-3 weeks. Whee!

Yay for being out of debt!

My husband learned to drive stick shift when we picked up his brand new MINI Cooper from the dealer, back in the days when you couldn't get the S model in an automatic. It is doable; just remind yourself that grinding the gears a few times won't kill the car, though it may sound like it. If you're still grinding gears a week later, then worry.

If you feel like trusting an amateur, I'd be happy to tech edit your knitting pattern when it's done. I'm an experienced knitter, a professional technical writer, and good at knitter math, but I've never combined all those things into editing patterns before. It's something I'd like to start getting into, so I've been looking for people I can practice on for free. =)

I don't know if I'll ever publish the pattern beyond being free on Ravelry or anything like that, but sure, I'd love it if you tech edit it once it's done. Thanks!

It's going to be really simple though, mostly stockinette stitch, with one seam and probably one simple cable. But if it turns out, it might get me into designing patterns further. :)
