apartment search update

We went and looked at the apartment... or rather apartmentS, yesterday, and while the first 3 we looked at were gorgeous, we were really meh about the layouts, they were kinda boring and
felt small. And then we stepped into the last layout they have available... and our jaws pretty much dropped. That was it... it was much more unique than the others (which were really just boxes), and we decided to apply for one. We stopped for a quick, late sushi lunch, and then Ian headed off to work and I headed home to fill out the online application.
If you go to the complex's website, and have a look at the layouts for Azure II, it's layout 08.
There really shouldn't be any reason we don't get it... between Ian and I, we make more than 4X the rent, and we both have awesome landlord and employer references, so now it's just a matter of waiting to hear from them. We've asked to move in the weekend of July 25th (which hopefully shouldn't be a problem as the place is empty now - we'll be the first people to live in the suite!) so that we can be finished unpacking in time for my sister's visit on the August long weekend.
The places are stunningly gorgeous, and have nice tall ceilings (I'm guessing at least 10") and are really bright and airy, which is something I've really missed in my current place. Thank you to everyone who responded to my question about directions and container gardening... as it turned out, the layout we wanted was only available on one particular corner of the building, and I'm not going to compromise that in favor of a container garden, so... north-west facing it is. I will hopefully still get enough sun for my plants. It will likely mean we get really pretty sunsets, and not have to deal with bright sun in the morning waking us up.
Regardless of where we do end up living (though hopefully it will be in this place), I am really looking forward to having the move done and re-setting up my home... and most of all,
throwing a housewarming party!
