(no subject)

Looking back, I was having one heck of a crappy week last week. I spent a chunk of it feeling insecure enough to think that my boss was going to find some reason to kick me to the curb this week (my 3 month probation is up this week). I have no idea where that was coming from, except my stupid brain. Already today, I've been here an hour and a half and there has been comments that make it quite obvious that I am at no risk of losing my job, as well as a few compliments. Sheesh. I wish I could understand my stupid brain.

So our weekend was pretty darn quiet. On Saturday, we went and bottled beer in the morning, and ran a couple of quick errands, and then spent the rest of the day at home. Yesterday we did a grocery shopping run and Mr. Plays-with-Fire decided he was going to take advantage of the big sale at Superstore (40% off PLUS no tax) and buy a new bbq. He got this massive thing with a 2-part lid and a base that hides the propane tank and holy crap. Men and their toys.

I'm really looking forward to the long weekend coming up - we scrapped the camping trip and Ian is working Friday to pay for his new toy. This means I'll have most of my Friday alone, and I plan to enjoy the hell out of it.

I still can't believe it's almost July though. Especially not with this weather. Blech.

my SCA drought is almost over

It feels like it has been SOOOOOO long since I've been to an SCA event. I suppose it actually has been quite a while - the last thing I went to was Lionsdale Champions, where we spent maybe a total of an hour there looking at whether the barn would make a good wedding venue, and before that I went to Lions Gate Summer Defenders for the afternoon. That's it. I'm in SUCH SCA withdrawal it's not funny.

Fortunately, I have July Coronation coming up in about 3 weeks, Tournament of Armies 2 weeks after that, Lions Gate Sergeantry Trials 2 weeks after that, and August Investiture 2 weeks after THAT. Though I'm still debating whether to go to Sergeantry Trials or the Pagan Pride day that's happening the same day.

I need to get going on some new garb for Ian. If I want him to come with me to events, I should probably not dress him like a total pauper, right?

And it's time to get my butt in gear on making the 2 swags of beads that are due for July Coronation.

And then more garb for me.

And then... haha, what next? A couple of birthday presents for later in the summer, I think.
