The past week has been, well... I suppose interesting is the best way to put it. Stressful (holy psoriasis flare, Batman!), tiring, long, and emotional. But in the end, life goes on.
I actually had a relatively quiet weekend - I decided to not go to the Viking feast on Saturday, because I was sick of people and just couldn't cope with the idea of it right then. I both wish I had gone and am glad I didn't. On Sunday, I did go out for a few hours in the afternoon, to a University of Tir Righ class that
melspeth was teaching, because I want to learn a bit more about painting charters. She did an awesome job, and I can hardly wait until she develops an intermediate level class.
I started painting a thank-you card for Queen Wrenn during the class, it was turning out amazing, and then on the way home, I managed to plant a wet thumb into the paint and smudge it. Argh! However, I have an idea of how to salvage it. We'll see if it works. If not, it was going to be lost anyways. I had almost finished it during the class, so getting another one and redoing it won't take much time anyways. Note to self: get a portfolio type thing for transporting stuff!
I spent Thursday through Sunday last week debating various options of things to do with my gaming, now that I will not be continuing to raid the way I was before. I had recently been thinking that I felt somewhat burned out, anyways, but I couldn't make up my mind on what to do. After a day or so of thinking maybe we could rebuild my old guild as a 10 man raiding guild, the person who had been saying he would help with it decided that it wasn't a good idea as he's going back to school soon. I have no desire to do it all on my own, so we scrapped the idea completely. Ian put in an application with a late night raiding guild on the Proudmoore server yesterday, but we haven't heard back yet. If he does decide to transfer to another server to find a late night raiding guild, I will make a deathknight on that server and once he decides if the server and guild meets his wants, then I may look at transferring my characters. Last night, we did put our mains in another guild on Bronzebeard (Ominous) to check them out, as a place to meet people and have people to game with. We'll see what happens there. Proudmoore would be a fun place to play, I think - it's got a huge population which is relatively even between alliance and horde, it's got a lot of European and Pacific Rim players, so there are people on at all times of the day, and it's the unofficial GLBT server.
But for the near future, that's it for me and raiding (except on an extremely casual, spur-of-the-moment type basis. I said in voice chat last night that any raiding I do will be decided on with about 5 minutes notice. There will be NO signing up in advance for me). I plan to spend my free time keeping a nice clean house, making beads and knitting, reading, watching movies, exercising daily, cooking proper meals, getting to archery practice on a weekly basis once it moves to Burnaby again, and spending time with friends. And that's just for starters.
For tonight, I will be off work at 2pm, after which I plan to give Ian a ride to work and then do a bit of shopping at Market Crossing, and then coming home to start the housework. I plan to focus on one room per day for the next week (though the laundry will be done tonight as well as the kitchen), and that way I should be done by the weekend.
