turquoise eye bead, originally uploaded by ravnsdaughter.
Yep, another one.
I actually logged off, shut my computer completely off and headed for the torch at 6:30-ish yesterday, to get my fix before my raid. My computer was acting really sluggish, which was the reason for shutting it completely off, but it was also somewhat symbolic. I've really been enjoying all my time off the computer lately. I only had time to get this one bead made, but it gave me my fix. :)
I realized on Tuesday evening that for optimal productivity, I need to have at least 3 projects on the go at once: one lampworking, one scribal, and at least one of something else. I can only make a certain number of beads before my cooling blanket fills up (and the beads need time to cool off before I can take them out of the blanket), my legs fall asleep and my propane tank loses pressure (letting it warm up again fixes the pressure issue - I can either just stop for a while, or swap tanks every so often). I can only paint for so long before my upper back and neck starts to ache (this will hopefully be somewhat alleviated when I get my sloped desk thingie back from my Laurel). So I do one thing for however long I can last, switch to the next, and when I am still waiting for beads to cool and my neck can't take the painting anymore, I go knit, or sew, or work on a website, or whatever. Works for me. Also alleviates the "I'm bored so I'm going to rush to finish this... except then I make a mess" issue.
