I really didn't sleep very well last night. Tonight probably won't be much better either, as I'm raiding and that won't end until 10:30. Blech. A couple nights ago, one of my cats discovered the hanging hose to my CPAP and started playing with it, and put at least one puncture in it in the process. I'm overdue for a checkup on my machine anyways, so I will make an appointment for that sometime soon and get a new hose in the process.
I left the house without a jacket this morning, and I think that was probably a bad idea. Thankfully I only have a 3 block walk to get home, but it was definitely a little chilly this morning. It's gorgeously sunny out though - perfect autumn weather.
So, Ian didn't get the dayshift position he applied for. I'm not sure if I talked about this previously or not, but he had applied for a position internally at the company he works for, which would have meant a switch from afternoons to dayshift. It had come down to him and one other guy, but they defaulted to going by seniority and the other guy had something like 3 weeks on Ian, despite the fact that he's called out sick enough to more than negate that 3 weeks. But he'd also threatened to quit if Ian got the position, and they're having enough staffing issues as it is, so that might have had something to do with it too. In any case, Ian now doesn't have to deal with that idiot on the afternoon shift, and he's first in line for whatever position comes up next. I'm a mixture of happy and sad about it... sad, because it means I still really only get to see him on weekends, but on the other hand, I really like having my evenings to myself during the week. Ah well.
I am SO looking forward to my 4 day weekend, you have no idea. Seriously... just totally giddy. Ian works Friday, and he volunteered to work Monday, so it will be pretty quiet, other than the Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. I have some pumpkin pie baking to do this weekend too.
