cat people... help please?
Oct. 2nd, 2009 10:31 amI have a question for the cat people on my friends list: what type of cat litter do you use?
I am trying to find the right litter for my babies, but haven't had much luck so far. I used to use clumping litter back when I had short haired cats, but once I got Onyx, it started causing problems in that it would get caught in his fur, he'd lick himself and eat it, and then it would give him an upset tummy.
So I switched to non-clumping gravel litter. That was cheap and easy to clean, but it got stinky really fast. At the moment, I'm using Yesterday's News, but the cats bat the pellets all over the place, and while it takes a few days to get stinky, it is expensive and it doesn't clump. If I'm going to pay that much for litter, I would rather just scoop the box daily and change it all out once a week. But that won't work with this stuff.
Is there anything out there that fits all of my criteria? I want something that won't get stinky fast, and it has to either be cheap and non-clumping, or if it's clumping I'm willing to pay more. Any ideas? Thanks!
