rant time!

I have some exciting news to post about sometime soon, but first, I need to rant a bit.
Thing the first: Why must the cheapy tea companies use hibiscus and rosehips as a base for darn near everything??? I mean, ok, they don't put it in their green teas, or their peppermint or chamomile, but in any fruity type herbal tisanes, they're right there at the top of the ingredients list. And anytime I buy an herbal blend with them in there, it's ALL I can taste. If I wanted rosehip tea, I would BUY rosehip tea, dammit! I want my tangerine orange tisane to taste like tangerines and oranges, not rosehips. I guess from now on I am going to have to buy all my herbal teas from slightly more upscale online places.
Thing the second: Is it just me, or are most cell phones and cell phone batteries pieces of crap these days? My cell phone isn't even a year and a half old yet, and it won't freaking hold a charge anymore. And I'm not ordering my iPhone until sometime this summer, when the new model comes out, so it's rather frustrating to have my phone go dead at the worst freaking times. Argh!
Thing the third: I placed a tiny (seriously...it's a ring and a 1" pocket goddess figurine) order with gryphonsmoon.com the other day. My order came to $26. So why the HELL is it going to cost $18 to ship it to me in Canada??? What the heck is wrong with the US postal service? Put it in a bubble mailer and toss it in the mail, that'll cost you like $3. Grr!

Date: 2009-04-23 08:02 pm (UTC)I'm always disappointed that 95% of decaf teas are based in something other than black tea. I've taken to just buying bulk decaf English Breakfast from Whole Foods.

Date: 2009-04-23 08:43 pm (UTC)I get organic Irish Breakfast (full caffeine though) through Ian's work (he works for an organic food distributor) because I can get it at his discount off wholesale price, and it's less ridiculously priced then (because I drink a TON of tea), but for during the day at work, I prefer herbal tisanes as I am too busy to go down the hall for milk every time, and I don't drink black tea without milk in it. With herbals, I drink it with just a tiny bit of sugar.
I'm also contemplating just buying herbs and making my own blends as well. :)
Yep...
