Yeah, when I think about it in perspective, this isn't all that bad.
You can't tell from that crappy pic, but the nail is actually severed over halfway across the bottom of it. It's still joined to my finger, but until it stopped bleeding (which just happened in the past 2 hours - it was weeping a bit earlier this morning) you could actually see the break in the nail. It's still joined on the sides though, so I don't know if it will fall off or just have a big hole.
Fortunately my nails grow like weeds and I'm a really fast healer. Typing is getting noticeably easier as the day goes on, and tonight I'm going to see how much it's impacted my ability to lampwork.
