I need to get sewing
May. 19th, 2011 01:16 pmAs I was doing a whole pile of digging through stuff last night, working on organizing and trying to find my damned Windows7 DVD, I discovered where I had put all my really good fabric when I moved back in with Ian in December. As I've been thinking about what I need to get done before Tir Righ/Avacal War at the end of June, this was good timing. I'm bringing Ian (and Cody!) with me to AT war, and all Ian has for garb at the moment is a single green tunic. I could use some new underdresses too.
I have more fabric tucked away in bins, but at one point in time I went through and pulled out all the more historically appropriate stuff, and I can barely even remember what's in the bins anymore. Here's what I'd like to get done between now and the end of June.
- Finish the bog coat Angie gave me. All I have to do is add the second cuff and do the embellishment on it, and she gave me all the stuff for that in a ziploc bag. The coat is too small for me right now, but it'll fit Ian and keep him warm at the war.
- turn the black plaid fabric into a pair of pants for Ian. I would just get him some plaid pajama pants at A&N, but they don't seem to carry them large enough for him.
- find other fabric I can turn into clothing for Ian. I may have to go buy some, because everything else seems to be stuff I bought specifically for myself, and damnit, I'm not giving up my gorgeous red wool to him. :P
- turn the white fabric into an underdress for me
- turn the navy fabric into an underdress for me
- turn the red wool into something for me - probably an apron dress, maybe a caftan
- turn the green wool into a coat for me
