I'm getting a lovely, quiet, catch-up day at work today because my boss stayed home sick. I had a bit of a headache earlier, but fortunately I found a Motrin in my desk drawer (that I'd put there a while back), because I didn't have any in my purse. I'll have to rectify that.
I've been getting some good stitching time in on my apron dress, but the VanDyke stitch is definitely a lot more time consuming than herringbone. I'm REALLY loving the way it looks though. Of course, that could be a side effect of how bored I am with herringbone. Heh. I really don't think I have a hope in hell of having it finished for this weekend, but at least I'll have a project to work on on Saturday!
Tonight I need to get my place tidied up as I may not be home much tomorrow night, depending on how things pan out, and then figure out the rest of what I'm bringing for food on Saturday. I have a fairly large roast beef that I bought a couple days ago that I plan to cook up, and I'll get stuff to make a veggie tray, and a few other things, and we should be good. I'm pondering something to contribute to the dessert buffet, too.
So now that I'm in my own place, and things are calming down and I'm not sick anymore, life is starting to settle into a decent pace. I still miss the days when I only worked until 2pm and I had tons of spare time, but oh well. I'll take full medical benefits, job security and a decent salary over the extra spare time.
