*yawns sleepily*

I love days like today, where the work day seems to just zip right past, and then the afternoon seems to last forever. Especially when I get lots accomplished. That's essentially what happened today.

Today was originally scheduled for tea with Lissa, but I gave her a call around lunchtime to see if she was still up for it, and she needed to deal with some personal stuff, so we're going to reschedule. I wasn't too sad about this, as I was really feeling the urge to go home and play with my torch. I've gotten 2 sets finished for the Dirty Dozen Donation Drive largesse project today! Pictures of those ones will come later, as they're still cooling.

Instead, you can look at some pics that I took of the ones I've made in the last month or so.

beads made in level 2 class with fancy techniques
3 of the 4 beads I made in the level 2 class, which was all about slightly more advanced techniques. These are, from left to right: a transparent bead with dichroic overtop, and contrasting stringer scrolls; plunged and encased dots; encased silver foil

bead made in level 2 class
Another one from my class. This one taught us to make silvered ivory stringer, and then we used it to put the swirly line around the bead.

Blue and orange owl
My first attempt at a critter - this was supposed to be an owl. My sister loves stylized owls, so I decided to try and make an owl bead to make her a necklace with. Didn't work so well.

yellow, green and white
Beads for the Outlands string I'm doing for the July Coronation largess project (Outlands' heraldic colors are yellow, green and white)

Tir Righ colors
The first of 12 sets for the Dirty Dozen Donation Drive - I'm doing 12 sets of 5 beads. This one is in the principality colours.

various focal beads
Various focal beads to be used in sets for the D4.

my first attempt at a flower bead.
My first attempt at a flower bead. Trust me, the picture makes it look nicer than it really is. *laugh* More practice definitely needed.

We have a pretty quiet weekend ahead of us. No commitments, far as I know... we're just going to mostly relax, though there will likely be a trip to Ikea in there for patio furniture, as well as Army & Navy for more camping gear. We have 3 busy weekends ahead of us though, so I'm glad this one will be quiet.

I think your beads look incredibly pretty :D

Thank you! :)

I think they're really pretty, too! I love the red one with silvery swirls.

Thank you!

Also, does that show up red on your monitor? It's actually translucent purple, which is how it looks on my monitor too. I'm getting surprisingly accurate colors out of my camera, I haven't been having to do any color correction at all, which makes me rather happy.

It's more light burgundy and purplish :)

1) I think most of these beads are very pretty.

2) If you're not making any mistakes, you're not learning, you're coasting.

Absolutely lovely. You do your Kingdom proud.

*blush* thank you! :)

Out of curiosity, how did you find my LJ? I recognize the "seticat" handle from mailing lists long ago (probably the Steps?) - you're Baroness Rowan from Blatha An Oir, right?

Why yes, I am. :} I've relocated to Artemisia [Barony of Arn Hold]. May stay - may move back to An Tir. Just not sure as of yet.

I found you by tip-toeing in on ysabetwordsmith coat tails.

I have a crazy memory for names, and ability to link online handles/email addresses/real names/SCA names - chances are if I've heard or seen it once (especially seen online), I remember it. It's been years since I've been on the Steps, but I still remembered the seticat part of your email address. :)

And ooh, she linked to my post! I haven't read my friendslist recently enough to have seen that, so thank you for making me aware of it. :)

SO pretty! I need to learn how to do that (once I have room to buy/set up my own torch)
