*squee*

Eeeeeeee I'm getting my hands on a (hardcover, obviously) copy of A Dance with Dragons for $20 tomorrow, courtesy of an SCA friend who, I'm guessing, bought it when it came out, read it, and doesn't care to keep it. *squeeeeeee* No more waiting on the library to get it in!

I borrowed a copy from my dance partner Kim. She finished it right quick and loaned it to me directly. I am on page 325 already... and dude, it is awesome...

Callen posted on Facebook that he was selling a copy he didn't need for $20. I love the series and would've bought a copy eventually for my collection (even though I'd put my name on the request list at the library so that I could read it ASAP), so getting it for like half the list price is awesome.

For a second I thought you were talking about that awful Llewellyn press book "Dances With Dragons." I'm glad I googled it. :)

Oh, yay! I wish I had known you were waiting on it, I could've sent you an ebook copy. hope you enjoy!

Yay you! It's always fun to get your hands on a highly-anticipated book. I don't think I've had that happen since Deathly Hallows... these days I'm much more likely to get excited if a semi-abandoned fic gets updated. /o\

I have a policy against reading open-ended series by authors who are likely to die before any sort of 'The End' is achieved. Which makes it super-weird that the only original Thomas Canty work I own is a sketch from the Subterranean Press version of A Feast for Crows. And I've watched the show, I liked the show very much, but I sit here looking at my pencil sketch and wonder when the hell winged clipper ships enter into it. (Don't tell me -- I think I'm happier not knowing what comes next. I love Haven, too, and haven't read the Stephen King story it's based on.)

I read the first 4 books so long ago, even I don't remember where those ships come in! :)

That sketch is cool though!
