ongoing project list

Last updated: June 27, 2011

I think I needs me an ongoing to-do list.

SCA Projects I'm currently working on or need to start:

* Beads for the July Coronation/Pennsic Guild swags (needed: 40 - 20 blue/white, 20 red/white/black; due date: July 16th)
* Re-string my own festoons and include my retinue bead (due date: July 15th, so I have beads to wear at Coronation)
* 2nd Quarter exchequer's report (due date: July 31st)
* Beads for Tir Righ A&S/Bardic site tokens (needed: 100 blue/white; due date: October 21, 2011)

the rest of these have no due dates and are in no particular order
* navy blue underdress
* red wool apron dress
* white underdress
* white shirt for Ian, if there's enough fabric left over
* plaid pants for Ian
* green coat for me
* burgundy coat for Ian
* hat for me
* hat for Ian
* harp case
* beads for entering into Tir Righ A&S (single entry)
* figure out which championship I'm going to enter next year (Lionsdale v. Lions Gate, A&S v. Bardic)
* barding for Cody
* get my name/device registered

Non-SCA projects:
* personal website
* wedding website
* wedding planning
* make myself some modern lampworked jewelry

wait, barding for the dog?

Awesome :D

Yep, once my heraldry is decided on and submitted, I'm going to make basically a little blanket type thing to drape over the dog's back with my heraldry on it, with barding to attach it to his collar, and maybe a cover for his leash. We've had to switch to an all-chain leash because he has a habit of chewing leashes when he's left tied up while Ian runs into the store.

Marg and I have made barding for our dogs and marched them in the processional at TOA last year, it was cute but they both managed to break the ties on their barding
I saw someone at Sealion with barding on their little dogs and it buttoned around the front like a jacket rather than just tied to their collars, it seemed to work better

you should enter A&S for one and bardic for hte other the same year, then switch! You can do both...
;)

I guess I could! Though, if a miracle happened and I won the first one, could I still enter the second? Can you be champion of two places at the same time in different things?

well, my opinion differs from others. I don't think one should be a champion in the same subject at the same time for two different places. Say you were A&S champion for LionsGate, you need to swear to defend LG by way of A&S against it's foes. Say you were also A&S champion for Lionsdale at the same time. Who would you use your A&S to defend of LG and LD were competing together? Granted it doesn't come up more than once or twice in a year. But I also feel that it shouldn't be a "collect the whole set as fast as possible" concept either. Start with a low one, then the next year get the higher up one, then the next year Principality, then the next year Kingdom ;) Ok that was a silly schedule but you see what I mean, you get to improve a lot between winning them. I consider them personal tests or goals, a challenge for yourself. How does it honor you or the group you are competing in to not take it seriously if you do win? Meh. Not everyone feels like I do. :)

oops, yes I misread your question too. I think a person can be a champion of two places at the same time in different mediums... my opinion only. competitions between two places usually are between the same medium so the conflict wouldn't come up, in my mind. :)

yup, you are certainly busy...
