SCA schedule

I've finally had a chance to take a look at the schedule of upcoming events for Lions Gate and the surrounding area, and figured out which events I'm going to be going to. Events in italics are big maybes, but the local ones shouldn't be a problem for me to get to at all.

February 6 - LG Day of Dance/A&S
March 5-7 - Kingdom A&S in Glymm Mere (Olympia, WA)
March 20 - Viking dinner theatre (a Reik Felag event)
March 21 - UTR
April 10/11 - Tir Righ Heraldic Symposium
May 1 - May Bardic
May 28-30 - LG Archery Defenders
June 4-6 - Sealion war
June 11-13 - Tir Righ Coronet? No location listed yet
July 16-18 - July Coronation?

August 13-15 - SYGC
August 27-29 - Tir Righ Investiture
September 3-6 - September Crown in Glymm Mere

September 10-12 - Odin's Playground (Lionsdale)

Of course, now I have to deal with Ian. Because of us working opposite shifts, weekends are really the only time we get together. He really isn't much interested in the SCA, so I can't seem to get him to come with me... and when I want to go off and do something by myself on the weekends, he is a bit of a whiny baby.

This weekend's event has a brewing class happening at it, and then a tavern/potluck in the evening, AND it's also within walking distance of our home. I'm hoping that the combination of these things will make him more willing to come out for a little bit and maybe start getting used to it.

One of the problems is that he noticed the REAL freaks of the SCA (the ones every group has... that even the "normal" SCAers (as normal as we can be called, anyways) wish would go away and not come back... a certain kilted person in the local area comes to mind as an example) and thinks we're ALL like that. Not me, of course, but you know what I mean.

I may need to enlist some help from my friends on this one. Not sure how yet though.
